"I want to thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity and blessing me with this great fortune. I will not squander it," he said.
Wanless bought $15 worth of tickets to the May 27 30-state drawing at a convenience store in Winner during a trip to buy livestock feed. He will take home a lump sum of $88.5 million after taxes are deducted — an astonishing fortune, even more so in rural Todd County, the nation's seventh-poorest county in 2007, according to the Census Bureau.

Europe’s biggest lottery winner is a 25-year-old Spanish woman who was in fear of losing her job and was unaware of her £110 million jackpot because she was struck down with the flu. The unnamed woman, from Majorca, only discovered she had become a multi-millionaire when she returned to work on Monday after being tracked down by lottery officials.
She went back to work after fearing she might lose her job because of the recession, only to turn on her phone and be told she had won the jackpot. 2009-01-06 POWERBALL CHANGES - EFFECTIVE 7 JANUARY 2009
Beginning with the $105,000,000 multiple rollover draw that will take place on Wednesday 7 January 2009, the structure of PowerBall's number selection will undergo some changes. The state of Florida will be joining the fold, creating a new number selection structure and some interesting modifications to prize structures and jackpots.

2008-06-02:WE HEAR FROM OUR MONACO WINNERS!
The most prestigious event of the Formula One calendar took place last weekend amid the pomp and splendour that one would expect. Olafur and Svava tell us about their trip.
